Ken Nelson

Ken Nelson is an English record producer, born in Liverpool. He spent several years working on demos and with independent artists before his breakthrough with Gomez, and he later produced the first Coldplay recording, which brought worldwide success.

His discography includes Gomez's Bring It On and Liquid Skin, Badly Drawn Boy's The Hour of Bewilderbeast, and Coldplay's Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y. He has also worked with Kings of Convenience, Howling Bells, Paolo Nutini, Snow Patrol, Ray LaMontagne, the Charlatans and Deadbeat Darling. His work has won three Grammy Awards and two Mercury Music Prizes, and Music Week named him Producer of the Year in 2003.

On his own website, Ken describes feeling fortunate to have worked with talented and creative artists and to have captured wonderful musical performances. He speaks of an abundance of magical memories that sit alongside the recordings themselves. He welcomes enquiries from artists who might want to play a part in his musical journey and help him add to his discography with, as he puts it, "this extraordinary thing that we call music."
