Anandamayi Ma
Bengali Indian saint described by Paramahansa Yogananda as "the Joy-Permeated Mother." Born Nirmala Sundari, she displayed spontaneous spiritual states from childhood and never received formal teaching. Her presence drew Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and countless seekers. She traveled tirelessly across India teaching that the divine is the Self, and her recorded sayings — "Matri Vani" — remain a central devotional text in modern Hinduism.
