The Drunken Monk is a conscious living project founded by Peter Harper. It offers a supportive environment and practical tools for exploring your natural essence, bringing consciousness and spirituality into the routine of daily life. The name comes from an ancient martial arts style, "The Drunken Monkey", in which the practitioner moves in a relaxed, almost humorous way, as if drunk, yet stays fully aware of each movement and rooted in the present moment. The project is about being spiritual, self-aware and grounded, with laughter, authenticity and acceptance of our human nature in all its aspects.
The work rests on four areas: guided meditation, conscious music, the Enlightenment Intensive, and counselling and bodywork. Guided meditations are offered as recordings, in group sessions and in private sessions, and they focus on practical life themes. The conscious music is made as a gentle background for meditation and holistic sessions. It mirrors the beauty of nature and draws on the author's Celtic roots. The Enlightenment Intensive is a residential retreat built around Dyads, paired enquiry sessions on the question "Who am I?". It follows the process developed by Charles Berner.
Peter Harper is a spiritual guide with more than 35 years of experience in self discovery and spiritual guidance. He has been fascinated by the meaning of life since childhood, and spent his early years in Scotland, where he developed a passion for music and for exploring consciousness. He trained in counselling, Reiki and massage therapy, and developed a guided meditation practice using binaural sound. Of the many self discovery systems he has examined, from Zen to the Qabalah, he values the Enlightenment Intensive most for its simplicity and efficiency. He lives in the Pre Alps of Northern Italy, dividing his time between hosting retreats and meditations and his recording studio. His down-to-earth narrative and Scottish humour make his guidance accessible to everyone.
Veronika Kremenova is a co-creator of The Drunken Monk Conscious Living and its courses and projects. She holds a Master's in Social Work with a specialisation in counselling and crisis intervention, and is a certified facilitator of Breathwork and Active Meditations. She works as a counsellor and offers counselling, active meditations, breathwork, and relaxation with guided imagery, in English, Czech and Italian, in person or online.
Worth Knowing
The Drunken Monk is a conscious living project founded and guided by Peter Harper, a spiritual guide with over 35 years of experience in self-discovery and spiritual practice. Rather than positioning itself as a guru-centered teaching or a single modality, The Drunken Monk operates as an integrated ecosystem—combining guided meditation recordings, composed conscious music, intensive residential retreats, and one-on-one counselling and bodywork. The name itself, drawn from the martial arts lineage of the Drunken Monkey, signals the project's ethos: achieving spiritual clarity and self-awareness not through austerity or seriousness, but through relaxed presence, humor, authenticity, and acceptance of our full humanity. People are drawn to this work because it deliberately avoids both new-age sentimentality and rigid dogmatism, instead offering practical tools for exploring consciousness while staying grounded in daily life. The co-creator, Veronika Kremenova, brings a background in counselling and breathwork facilitation, which shapes the accessibility and psychological sophistication of the offerings. What distinguishes The Drunken Monk from many other meditation and spiritual guidance projects is this commitment to meeting people where they are—with Scottish humor, down-to-earth language, and respect for both the mystery of consciousness and the reality of human limitation.
