Lisa Olivera is a psychotherapist, writer and facilitator whose work is centered on radical acceptance, cultivating compassion, and integrating our stories and full humanity. She describes herself as devoted to practicing presence, cultivating deep relationship, and finding beauty and aliveness alongside the aches of being human, while still seeking laughter and joy.
She holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University, where she received the Dr. Robert Schukraft award for Inspirational Leadership. She has worked in schools, community-based mental health and private practice. Her own experience of growing up as an adoptee who often felt on the outside shaped a desire to walk alongside others as they move toward joy, connection and presence, even amid what hurts.
Lisa is the author of the books Already Enough and When the Ache Remains, and writes a newsletter, Human Stuff, which she describes as nourishment for the heart. She also facilitates workshops, writing circles and offerings centered on staying close to self, community and the earth. She believes relationships are the crux of healing, and that embracing the aches of being human is more healing than trying to fix it all.
She lives in Sonoma County, California, with her husband, daughter and two cats.
