The Mindful Movement is an oasis for people who want to tap into their inner peace, a positive mindset and their capacity for self-healing. Founded in August 2016 by Les and Sara Raymond, it offers guided meditations, hypnosis, affirmations, mindful movement videos and mindful tips for living. The founders live in Maryland with their two kids and two dogs, and describe a combined 30-plus years in the movement field. They say they are passionate about helping others grow and live mindful, fulfilled lives.
The project grew out of a turning point in Sara's own life. In her early 30s she felt she was drifting, doing what she thought she should be doing in her career, when a mentor asked her to consider why she teaches, not just what or how. Getting to know her values through movement and meditation, and uncovering unconscious beliefs through hypnotherapy, led her to begin The Mindful Movement. She writes that she is called to help others find the same empowerment, confidence and fulfillment.
Sara's training includes Comprehensive Pilates instructor and Master Instructor with Balanced Body, 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, meditation teacher, hypnotherapist and trauma-informed coach. She is co-owner of Coreworks Fitness Studio and the author of the book You Are Not Broken. Her work draws on nervous system science and compassionate self-inquiry, using self-healing movement practices and mindset shifts to help people who feel stressed, anxious or stuck build confidence in their bodies and emotional freedom.
The Mindful Movement's YouTube channel, where Sara's voice guides meditations and Pilates and yoga practices, is described on her site as reaching over 1M subscribers. Alongside the free meditations, podcasts and videos, the team offers self-paced online courses, group coaching, 1:1 services and retreats, including the Deep Unwind, a guided weekend of somatic practice, meditation and self-inquiry.
