Manal El-Ramly is the founder of Mattain and works as a life coach, meditation teacher, TEDx speaker and author. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and she brings that analytical mind, together with more than three decades of professional and entrepreneurial experience, to her spiritual work. Her aim is to break complex human behavior down into its essential parts and offer a roadmap toward wholeness.
The name Mattain is her own coinage. It derives from "attain," the English translation of her given name, and her parents are Egyptian. Where "attain" points to the achievement, "Mattain" emphasizes the process of becoming your whole self. Her method centers on four bodies (egoic, mental, emotional and physical) and five steps that help people reclaim what she calls the Unconditional Three: worthiness, freedom and love.
Manal works with high-achievers who want to move through anxiety and fear toward lasting peace. She is the author of Transcending Anxiety: From Fear to Freedom and is writing a book on the five-step process of surrender, The Surrender Path. Her TEDx talk, "Why You Don't Need to Search for Your Purpose," invites listeners to connect with their innate wholeness. She also teaches on Insight Timer, where her meditations and talks explore the mystery of being human as something to be lived rather than understood. Her courses include one on healing with Ho'oponopono.
Her live sessions are known for their experiential depth and a playful exploration of resistance, and they have helped thousands of people release limiting beliefs. Clients describe her as someone who asks the right questions and offers judgment-free support. Her work rests on the belief that every person is inherently whole, worthy, loved and free, and it is shaped by values such as authenticity, compassion, humor and connection.
Manal lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. She enjoys yoga, meditation and walks in Umstead State Park, and she travels regularly to see family in Los Angeles, Vancouver and Cairo.
Worth Knowing
Manal El-Ramly is a meditation teacher, life coach, and author who founded Mattain, a framework for personal transformation grounded in an unusual background: she holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, bringing an engineer's precision to spiritual work. Her appeal to high-achievers lies in this rare combination—she breaks down complex human behavior into its essential parts rather than relying on vague spiritual language. Students are drawn to her because she asks sharp, clarifying questions and works without judgment, creating space for people to examine their resistance rather than bypass it. Her method centers on what she calls the Unconditional Three: worthiness, freedom, and love—and the four bodies (egoic, mental, emotional, physical) through which these reclaim their footing. What surprises newcomers is how grounded her approach is: she's not promising enlightenment, but rather a practical roadmap through anxiety and fear toward sustained peace. Her work resonates with seekers who value clarity and directness over mysticism.
