説明

Tantra Somatics: Healing Attachment is a three-day tantra retreat at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, led by Stacy Matulis and Daniel Sharman. It brings the ancient system of tantra together with modern somatic techniques to work with attachment patterns, past relational wounds and the places where intimacy gets blocked. Individuals and couples are both welcome, and no prior experience is needed.

What to Expect

The weekend is built around partner practice. Tantra is approached as a way to clear channels of disconnection in the body and mind left by past pain, and the work is trauma-informed, pleasurable and paced with care. Through practice with a partner, the group works to clear trauma patterns and build what the teachers call the circuitry for endearing connection.

The tools are breathwork, communication practices, tantra, inquiry and group work. The focus is on locating the specific attachment scenarios and patterns that inhibit intimacy, and on gaining access to truth-telling, limbic safety, Eros, and a longevity of turn-on and relational thriving. The aim is to turn your relationships into allies, including the patterns that have felt impossible to change.

The retreat opens in the evening with check-in from 2:00 pm, a Kripalu Yoga class, dinner, and a first program session from 7:30 to 9:00. The full days begin with yoga at 6:30 am and a silent breakfast, followed by a program session from 9:00 to 11:30. After lunch there is a second session from 1:30 to 4:00, then another yoga class and dinner. On the final morning there is yoga, silent breakfast and a closing session from 9:00 to 11:00, with lunch and departure at 11:30. Times may shift slightly, and the schedule given at check-in has the details and room locations.

About Stacy Matulis and Daniel Sharman

Stacy Matulis and Daniel Sharman co-lead the retreat. Both have experienced a profound shift in their own embodiment through these practices, in a way they say other forms of healing cannot touch. Through practice with their own teachers, they found that tantra opens doorways into the most protected layers of the attachment wound, including old patterns of pain and closure, and transforms them through connection and love. That lived experience is the ground the retreat is taught from.

The Setting

Kripalu is a yoga and health center in Stockbridge, in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. Accommodations are intentionally simple, meant to help you unplug and feel grounded. Options include private rooms, semi-private rooms with fewer roommates, and community-style dorms. Rooms are ready by 4:00 pm, and a luggage room is available if you arrive earlier. Check-out on the last day is at 10:00 am, though you can stay on campus and take part in workshops until 2:00 pm.

Three meals are served each day, with breakfast taken in silence, and the grounds are open to guests throughout your stay.

Before You Go

This retreat is open to all levels. No background in tantra or somatic work is required. It is taught in English. If you come alone, you will be paired with a practice partner for the partner activities, and couples can attend together.

Your stay includes three nights of accommodation, three daily meals, more than ten yoga classes each day, all program sessions and partner practices, and access to the grounds and facilities. Healing Arts sessions and items from the Kripalu Shop and Cafe are available for purchase separately.
